  1. ABOUT URBAN LEADS

Urban Leads is operated by April Roma McKechnie trading as Urban Leads, ABN 68 217 144 007, based in NSW, Australia.

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that business. These terms apply to purchases from our online store and use of our website.

  1. YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws.

Our products must meet applicable consumer guarantees, including acceptable quality, safety, fitness for purpose and matching their description. These guarantees also apply to handmade and made-to-order products.

Where these terms or another store policy conflict with a non-excludable legal right, that right prevails.

  1. PRODUCTS AND DESCRIPTIONS

Our rope products are handmade to order. We aim to provide accurate descriptions, photographs and measurements. Minor handmade variations may occur, and screen settings may affect the appearance of colours.

These variations do not excuse a product being faulty or materially different from its description.

Please check the product style, length, rope thickness and colour before ordering. Contact us if you need assistance choosing an appropriate product.

Product descriptions and availability may change for future orders. We will not materially change an accepted order without your agreement.

  1. ORDERS AND PAYMENT

Please provide accurate contact, payment and delivery information and ensure you are authorised to use the payment method supplied.

If we cannot fulfil your order, or identify an error affecting it, we will contact you promptly. We will not substitute a product or charge a higher price without your agreement. If the order cannot proceed, we will refund payments received for the cancelled items and any related delivery charges.

We may decline an order where payment cannot be authorised, we reasonably suspect fraud, or fulfilling it would be unlawful.

As products are made to order, please contact us promptly if you wish to change or cancel an order. We cannot guarantee that a change-of-mind request can be accommodated once production begins. This does not limit your statutory cancellation or refund rights.

  1. PRICES AND GST

Prices are displayed in Australian dollars unless another currency is expressly shown.

Urban Leads is not currently registered for GST and does not charge GST.

Applicable shipping charges are displayed before checkout is completed. Price changes apply to future purchases and do not retrospectively change accepted orders.

  1. PRODUCTION, SHIPPING AND LOCAL PICKUP

We aim to make and dispatch orders within one business day. Production may take longer during busy periods, and we will contact you if there is a significant delay.

Australia Post standard delivery may take up to five business days after dispatch under normal conditions. Actual timing depends on the destination and postal conditions and may take longer.

Local pickup is usually ready within two days. Please wait for confirmation and collection instructions before attending.

Delivery and pickup estimates are not guarantees. If an order is delayed, lost or damaged, contact us so we can investigate and arrange an appropriate solution. Your consumer rights continue to apply after dispatch.

  1. RETURNS AND REFUNDS

We do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, including selecting the wrong colour, length or rope thickness.

Faulty products, incorrect items and other failures to meet consumer guarantees are handled under our Returns and Refunds Policy and applicable law.

Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or compensation. Our change-of-mind policy does not limit these rights.

  1. INSPECTION, CARE AND SAFE USE

Inspect the entire product before every use, including the rope, handles, joins, clips, rings, stoppers and any other fittings.

Check for chewing, cuts, fraying, excessive abrasion, loose or damaged joins, corrosion, cracks, deformation, or a clip that does not close and operate correctly.

Do not use a product that shows damage, excessive wear or unreliable operation. Stop using it immediately and contact us if you are unsure about its condition. An inspection cannot guarantee that every defect will be visible.

Rope leads are not chew-proof. Prevent your dog from chewing the product and follow the care instructions supplied with it. Avoid exposure to damaging heat, chemicals and sharp surfaces.

Use the product only for its stated purpose and in accordance with its instructions. These products are not vehicle restraints, climbing equipment or lifting equipment.

Choose equipment appropriate for your dog and the intended activity. Check that collars, harnesses and attachment points are correctly fitted and that clips are fully closed before use.

Supervise your dog while using the equipment. Never leave a slip lead or slip collar on an unattended dog, and never use one for tethering.

Keep long lines clear of traffic and entanglement hazards. Do not wrap rope around your hands or body, or allow it to run rapidly through your hands.

A lead does not replace attentive handling or appropriate training. If you are uncertain about suitable equipment or its use, seek advice from a qualified professional.

  1. RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE OR INJURY

To the extent permitted by law, Urban Leads is not responsible for loss, damage or injury to a person, animal or property to the extent it is caused by misuse, unauthorised alteration, failure to follow reasonable care or safety instructions, or continued use of equipment with damage or excessive wear that was known or reasonably apparent.

This provision does not exclude or reduce responsibility for a product defect, our negligence, a breach of a consumer guarantee or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Failing to inspect a product does not automatically remove a customer’s rights. Any claim must be assessed on its circumstances, including the cause of the failure and any contribution by the parties.

  1. WEBSITE USE AND ACCOUNTS

Use our website lawfully and provide accurate information. Keep your account credentials secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorised access.

Do not use the website for fraud, harassment, distributing malicious software, accessing another person’s information without permission or interfering with security.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse or protect the website and its users. This does not remove rights relating to purchases already made.

  1. WEBSITE CONTENT AND REVIEWS

Website content owned by us or licensed to us is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may browse, share links and retain information for legitimate shopping purposes. Other reproduction or commercial use requires permission unless allowed by law.

Reviews must be honest and must not infringe another person’s rights. By submitting a review for publication, you permit us to display it in connection with the reviewed product or our business. We will not alter a review to misrepresent its meaning.

  1. SHOPIFY AND EXTERNAL SERVICES

Our store is hosted on Shopify. Purchases through this store are made with April Roma McKechnie trading as Urban Leads.

External websites and services may have their own terms and privacy policies. Nothing in this section limits our responsibilities for your purchase or any rights you may have against another provider.

  1. PRIVACY

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used and shared in connection with the store. Please read it alongside these terms.

  1. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these terms for future use of the website and future purchases. The terms applying when your order was accepted will continue to govern that order unless you agree otherwise or a change is required by law.

  1. GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales and applicable Australian federal laws.

This does not limit any mandatory consumer protections or rights to bring a claim in a court or tribunal available to you under applicable law.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent they can operate independently.
